Recent Helicopter Landing
Sometimes a patient sustains such severe injuries that they need to be taken to a major trauma center. Unfortunately the closest major trauma center to Centerport is Stony Brook University Medical Center. Since this hospital would take approximately 45 minutes to get to via roadways the only viable solution is to fly the patient to the hospital. In this scenario the patient’s injuries were sustained by a fall from his second story roof. A more common way that a severe traumatic injury can be sustained is a motor vehicle accident.
