Centerport volunteer firefighter Steve Pribyl, second from left, was recently recognized by the Centerport Fire Department for 40 years of dedicated service and bestowed with the title of "Chief Emeritus."
Pribyl, who served as Chief of the Department from 1986-1987, has been an instructor at the Suffolk County Fire Academy for the last 12 years. He is currently a firefighter with the Northport VA Medical Center Fire Department. Pribyl is a past President of the Town of Huntington Fire Chief's Council, and served on the Suffolk Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services Commission for ten years.
